Arriving Elephants Camp

Waking to the sounds of the elephants trumpets. I’ve been so busy living these last few days I haven’t had time for posting. I’ve taken my family to @anantara_goldentriangle - an elephant reserve for rescued elephants in the middle of the jungle in northern Thailand at the crossroads where Laos Myanmar and Thailand converge. This an elephant sanctuary where mahouts and elephants live and work in an ethical safe environment giving the top ranking for highest preservation and treatment of elephants. In the morning we walk with the elephant down to the water for bath time and then I hop in a motorcycle sidecar to explore the area. Breakfast is sticky rice baked in bamboo, dragon and passion fruit, papaya and lychees with Asian noodles and spinach. My sister and I woke before everyone and take a dip in the pool. And then we leave to feed the elephants. We walk with the elephants to the river - Myanmar is less than 50 feet away across the river. The elephants bathe in the river. 1000s of photos on my phone need sorted - go to Instagram to see more - but this photo, is the moment we arrived. In a hut by the Mekong River with elephant all around us. Welcome to paradise.
