We are Becoming
Not just me. But We. I share my journey because I believe this is bigger than myself. I share my journey because I’m not afraid of feeling. I share my journey because I’m not afraid of putting feelings into words. Words unite us. Words have power. Power creates Change. I share my journey because I believe We are Becoming.
In order for the butterfly to Become, a caterpillar has to die. He’s our Sacrificial Lamb. The butterfly is not just a transformation- it’s a resurrection. The caterpillars body liquifies, decomposes into goo. All that’s left is essence, an amorphous mess, no shape, no consciousness, just goo.
The Caterpillar- Yes I now give him a Capital C - dies unto himself and then from liquid the spine of the butterfly takes shape. It hardens. And it has to hurt. There’s growing pains. It’s chrysalis.It stretches and stands tall. And then uncertain and unsure the Butterfly unfolds her wings.
Her whole way of being is different- yes I switched genders there. She has to learn To Be again. Yes She has to learn to fly, but that’s easy, She flaps her wings and as if by magic She is elevated in the air. Flying is not the hard part. She was born to fly.
You know She must have giggled the first time that happened? “I am flying!” She yells like in Peter Pan.
But Flying is not the hard part. She has to learn to land. The Caterpillar had a jaw- did you ever think of that? - The Butterfly drinks from a straw. Her whole way of being has to Change. Don’t you see!?! She’s Becoming! And so are We.
Chrysalis is not a resting state. Nor is Quarantine. I keep hearing people talk about Returning- Returning to life, to work, to normal activities. I’m sorry. Normalcy is dead. We are Becoming.
We are breathing a Paradigm Shift. Trust me, I’m not dumb. The entire world will operate in a new way hence to forth. Get with the program people. Our old way of living has lost its influence and a new way of being is taking over. You will SEE... you will BE.
That emotion you feel? It’s grief. You’re dying unto yourself. Not just me. But We.
Just like The Humble Caterpillar - He is Legend- when The Caterpillar turns into The Butterfly our old way of Being, old beliefs and habits, fears and footholds, must die.
We are Becoming. Why do I do it? Share my feelings? I write because I believe we are in this Together. The Coronavirus is catapulting us into a state of Grace. Amazing Grace how sweet it is. That saved a wretch like me.
When we come out of here - we won’t Return. We will Live in a Brave New World. Gone is The Age of Power, Money and Control. And in its place comes Communication, Cooperation, Humanitarianism and Peace.

JOURNAL EXERCISE:
Close your eyes and breath for a few seconds. Listen. What do you hear? Record those sounds. When you look around you - what do you see? When you inhale - what do you smell? Are you drinking something? Eating? Is there a taste that remains in your mouth or something you’re anticipating eating? How do the clothes feel on your skin? How do you inside of your skin? Do you feel happy? At peace? Anxious. Name the emotion. List atleast 5 emotions you have felt at this moment in time. Try to list 7. You get a gold star if you can list 10. Now close your eyes and look inside your head. Look at the spot between your eyes. And listen. Not to external noise, but the chatter in your head. What do you know? You know things that you mind has not yet told you. You know things that you did not know how to listen to you. What are those things you hear inside your head? Listen and record. You are knowing.
