More Kittens Less War
Kittens 1 month and 3 days. Because the world needs more kittens and less war. Every time it gets to be too much I go to sit on my office floor where the kittens have been annexed and I play with them. My sister logged into Instagram yesterday for the singular purpose to see if there was a kitten update. The world needs more kittens. It’s hard in these times to know what to post. My colleague Melanie who manages our @theantiquesdiva page texted me “Is it appropriate to try to sell antiques when a war is going on?” “I don’t know” I responded. “I know we have to continue to do business - its our livelihood - but it’s hard to focus on work when people are dying. It somehow feels disrespectful- Antiques feel frivolous when people are dying.” I haven’t figured out what the balance is. What’s the appropriate response?
But what I do know is kittens sooth the soul. Take care of yourself people. Take hot baths. Take long walks. Spend a few minutes scrolling kitten videos on Instagram. The world is a crazy and scary place at this moment. Do self care like you’ve never done it before. What soothes your soul in these moments? How are you taking care of yourself?
